Some of the State’s top emergency service volunteers were recognised tonight at the annual State Emergency Service (SES) awards.

Emergency Services Minister Rob Johnson said the three award recipients were chosen for their exceptional commitment to local communities for going above and beyond normal expectations.

“The efforts of the award recipients are truly exemplary and an inspiration to all of us,” Mr Johnson said.

“They represent the very best of almost 2,000 SES volunteers State-wide who generously give their time to support people in their community during times of need.

“The high standard of entries at this year’s awards gives the State confidence knowing that communities are better protected thanks to the dedication and commitment of these volunteers.

“They give up their time and are called away from their family and friends to serve their communities in challenging situations.

“They perform an essential service to the State, and we should all be very grateful for their efforts, especially knowing that we have a busy cyclone and bushfire season ahead.”
